Dr. Naheed Ahmad

Dr. Naheed Ahmad’s journey into the dental profession began at the University of Illinois at Chicago, where she earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree in 2017. After dental school, she served in the National Health Service Corps as a general dentist for three years. During that time, she was also an adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Dentistry. However, her thirst for knowledge and passion for pediatric care led her to complete a pediatric dentistry residency at Rady Children's Hospital in San Diego through NYU Langone Health. During her residency, Dr. Ahmad was selected to be Chief Resident and her research on baby root canals (pulpotomies) won a national award.

Dr. Naheed has additional certifications in pediatric white zirconia crowns through NuSmile Progressive Esthetics and Sprig. She has also served as volunteer faculty at IU School of Dentistry. Dr. Naheed's unique approach to dentistry stems from her love for art and science. Her genuine love for her profession is evident in her ability to connect with her patients and watch them grow up under her care. She's been known to serenade her young patients with off-key Disney songs and share corny jokes, to make every visit memorable and fun for both parent and child. For her, the best part of being a pediatric dentist is seeing her patients leave with a bright, confident smile after coming in scared and nervous. Their smiles are testament to her gentle and comforting approach.

Outside of work Dr. Naheed Ahmad favorite activities include spending time with her family and loved ones, trying Indian desserts, cooking, yoga, and event planning. Dr. Naheed's dedication to her pediatric patients, her passion for minimally invasive treatments and special healthcare needs, and her unique ability to make dental visits enjoyable make her a perfect addition to your Children’s Dental Center family!

Your child should see the dentist at the age of 1 year, or within 6 months of the appearance of his or her first tooth. A quick checkup will be done and x-rays taken to ensure the baby teeth are growing properly. If your child has multiple teeth already, they'll be counted and quickly cleaned.
